This policy covers the PDFMason app for Android. The PDF tools on this website are covered by the website privacy policy.
What this app sends
This app has no account and no sign-up, and it never uploads your documents. What it does send, if you allow it, is anonymous crash reports and usage counts — and that is the whole of it.
What a crash report contains
A crash report contains your device model, its Android version, this app's version, and the stack trace of what failed. It contains no part of the document you had open.
What a usage event contains
A usage event records which feature you opened, whether it succeeded, failed or was cancelled, and roughly how many pages and how long it took — as ranges, never exact numbers. File names, file contents, file locations and search terms cannot reach it: the code that sends events accepts a fixed list of values, and nothing you typed is on that list.
Who processes it
Google processes this data on our behalf, through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. No advertising identifier is collected and no identifier of you is set.
How long it is kept
Crash reports are kept for 90 days and usage events for 14 months. Those are Firebase's own retention periods for this configuration, not a separate promise from us.
How to turn it off
You can turn all of it off at any time, in Settings → Privacy. Nothing else about the app changes when you do.
Your documents stay on this device
A document is read only when you pick it yourself. Editing, conversion, recognition and compression all run on this device.
What the app keeps on this device
Your recent list, its thumbnails and your settings live in this app's private storage on this device. They go when the app is uninstalled, and you can remove any recent entry by holding it.
Sharing a file with another app
When you send a file to another app through Share, what that app does with it is governed by that app's own policy.
